Granite City Electric Supply Company recently hosted a charity golf tournament at Foxboro Country Club, Foxboro MA to benefit "Joshua's Run for the Jimmy Fund". Joshua's mother, Esther Blacker, created Joshua's Run for the Jimmy Fund in 1996 to show her appreciation for the care her son received at the Jimmy Fund Clinic at Boston's Dana Farber Cancer Institute. The run, for which Granite City Electric Supply Company is a major sponsor, has raised over $140,000 towards childhood cancer research.

"We thank our customers, vendors and employees who participated in our golf tournament to benefit Joshua's Run and the Jimmy Fund. The Jimmy Fund Clinic is a place where children with cancer and their families find hope." said Phyllis P. Godwin, Chairman and CEO of Granite City Electric. "Dana Farber's Jimmy Fund Clinic is the world's premier center for pediatric cancer treatment and research."

Steve Helle, President and COO of Granite City Electric Supply Company, commented "Our company remains committed to supporting events like these and are proud to assist Ms. Blacker and the Jimmy Fund in finding a cure for childhood cancer."

Granite City Electric, a family owned and operated electrical distributor, is headquartered in Quincy, MA since 1923. The company has 19 locations in New England and is the Official Distributor of Electrical Supplies to the Boston Red Sox.
