New MA Legislation on Carbon Monoxide

Massachusetts CO Legislation
Nicole's Law

As of March 31, 2006 ALL residential property regardless of size that contain fossil burning fuel equipment or contains enclosed parking in Massachusetts, is required to install CO alarms on every level of the home and with 10 feet of each bedroom.

The bill is named for Nicole Garofalo, a 7-year old Plymouth,MA girl who died in January 2005 after a snow-blocked heating vent trapped toxic carbon monoxide fumes in the family home.
