Granite City teams up with South Shore Habitat

3 Homes Receive Electrical Supplies

Quincy, MA - Granite City Electric Supply Company, New England’s leading independent electrical distributor, recently donated the electrical supplies for three South Shore Habitat for Humanity homes, as well as a number of decorative lighting products for one of the homes.

Jim Comeau, Construction Manager at South Shore Habitat for Humanity, said “I was very pleased to partner with Granite City Electric for these three houses. The quality and professionalism of their work has been extremely high. I hope to work with them more in the future!”

South Shore Habitat for Humanity is located in Braintree, Mass. It was founded in 1986 and is an independent, non-profit organization that involves volunteers in all aspects of the operation including construction of the homes. Working in partnership with families, volunteers, congregations, and community and business leaders, South Shore Habitat helps families living in inadequate housing to move into simple, decent homes of their own. Since its inception the organization has completed 40 homes resulting in respectable housing for 72 adults and 141 children.

SSHH is solely responsible for its own fund-raising and a Habitat homeowner family invests 500 “sweat equity” hours into the construction of their own home.
