Granite City Electric Supply’s Phyllis P. Godwin Receives Woodward Women of Distinction Award

Quincy, MA - Phyllis P. Godwin, chairman and CEO of Granite City Electric Supply Company, New England’s leading independent electrical distributor, was recently honored by the Woodward School for Girls. The Woodward Women of Distinction Award celebrates its recipients for their devotion to community and their extraordinary contributions to the South Shore.

Ms. Godwin was chosen as one of this year’s recipients based on her successful leadership of her company while being a dedicated community servant, advocate for countless South Shore charitable organizations as well as a tremendous mentor to the women in the local business community. During her acceptance speech Ms. Godwin expressed how she is “humbled” and “incredibly honored to receive this award from such a distinguished school that is dedicated to the empowerment of young women.” Godwin also stated, “This institution has a fine reputation for teaching its students about just how rewarding it is to give back to the community”.

The Woodward School for Girls, located in Quincy, MA, was founded in 1869 with the commitment to providing a safe and empowering community for girls of all ethnic, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds.
